I’m sitting here enjoying the rumbly grumbly thunderstorm passing through and NOT rushing to turn off all of my computers and printers. Why not? I had my electrician install a whole house surge suppression system on my electrical box, cable and phone. The cost was between $400 and $500 — which I traded for part of the electrician’s daughter’s senior portrait order — and now I have protection for my computer network that cost thousands. And the value of all the data on those computers? Darn near priceless.
So if you work from home a lot or have a residential studio like I do, seek out a good electrician and have him/her install some piece of mind for you. 🙂
