Every once in awhile we need to take a page out of Stephen Covey’s The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and take the time to “sharpen our saws”. I did this last week and collaborated with Erin Thomson (a favorite model of mine), Katrina King (a skilled hair and MUA), and Christy Grace (a talented body painter). Collaborating with other highly creative people can be a great break from working with everyday clients who often have difficulty seeing our “vision”; that’s not a knock, just a truth that comes along with being a visually creative person: not everyone can see what we see. But it’s great fun when everyone involved can see the creative possibilities. Check out “Black Swan”, the result of our collaboration.
As usual, all of the lighting was with speedlites using a combination of different modifiers: (2) 1×4 gridded strip boxes, (1) 48″ Lightbender softbox from Larson, (1) 22″ beauty dish, and (1) honeycomb grid spot for the background.
