In our never-ending quest to battle the sun on location, there is one constant: one can never have too much power. But often that power comes at the cost of a lot of weight to carry around. This one reason I am a fan of the Godox/Neewer Witstro AD360 super-speedlight: it kicks out a lot...
Mike,
Any update to this? I’ve been playing with my RBD but with just one ad360. It does pump out a lot of power. I concur with your findings that the outer diffuser drops power output by 2 stops or so. HSS dropped another stop or so, but I’m not positive my methodology is the best. Frankly, I should have put the camera on a tripod and shot a grey card for the target.
A couple of questions though:
Did you have any problems with the hotshoe on the flash? I attached the tripod base plate to the flash and the thumbscrew on the coldshoe base on the RBD mount attaches directly to the base plate. The regular coldshoe mount seemed to me to be the likely point of failure. Any thoughts on this?
And, what strobist products will your new store have? Rebranded ad360’s, TT850’s or TT860’s? I’m looking forward to MoLight brand of flashes and lighting accessories.

Hi Allen
I’m expecting my first shipment of MoLights to arrive on Thursday. Look for the grand opening of the online store on Friday, July 31!
I’ve been using my AD360 flashes with the hotshoes on and haven’t had any problems whatsoever. I often double them up on a bar with two coldshoes (something that i am trying to source for the store as well) and they appear to handle it quite well. The build quality is very robust.
My initial flash offerings in the store will be Godox TT850s and AD360s rebranded under the MoLight brand. The point of difference is that I will be offering a 6 month warranty with full replacement of any defective MoLight gear, as well as a US resource that folks can contact directly…much as you just did. 🙂 In addition, I will be adding MoLight educational/HowTo videos to help everyone get the most out of their MoLight gear.
I will also be carrying a number of accessories including the popular Bowens speedlight adapter and some quite inexpensive softboxes. The line will be expanded as the online store gets up and running.
Check back soon!
